UNISA has entered a new era of Alumni relationship management with the sale of the first two UNISA graduation rings to Patricia Lawrence, UNISA Foundation Head and Elliot Komane, finance department. The rings are engraved with the UNISA Crest and crowned by the year of graduation. Traditionally made available to graduated classes in the United States, the 9, 14 and 18 karat solid gold rings are developed, manufactured and marketed on behalf of the University by Serica. Manufactured in Virginia, Freestate, the programme provides employment to previously unskilled women from the surrounding townships. A portion of the revenue from every ring sold to UNISA graduates is donated to the university towards worthy projects. Strictly offered to bona fide graduates only, Serica can only accept orders once credentials have been checked and the order approved by UNISA.
